Our Annual Scholarships
With the investment of our community donors, the C. Waldo Scott Center for H.O.P.E. is proud to offer two different scholarships annually to residents of Newport News seeking higher education. Read below for more information on each scholarship.
The Lylton L. and Augusta Inettie B. Edwards Vocational Scholarship
Application Due Date: June 2, 2025 (by 5:00pm EST)
Purpose: Vocational Skills Training
Board of Trustees Scholarship
Application Due Date: May 5, 2025 (by 5:00pm EST)
Purpose: Assistance to those who plan to attend a four-year program at an accredited college or university.
Our 2023 Scholarship Recipients
We thank our donors for their support to help our community youth reach their educational goals. Over the past 24 years, the Scott Center has awarded $110,621 in scholarships!
